As a child during the 1960s, I grew up about 40 miles from the closest Krispy Kreme doughnut shop. Whenever we visited Salem, VA, we ALWAYS got hot doughnuts to bring home. The next morning, my mother melted butter in a skillet and browned a Krispy Kreme doughnut for my breakfast. 40+ years later, I STILL heat my doughnuts in a skillet with hot butter!! A Real Treat!!
